The Challenge Award

ATTENTION ALL JUNIORS!!

Did you know that JLGB can offer you the chance to take part in the newly updated "Challenge Award for Jewish Youth"?

Jewish boys and girls are growing up with more leisure time than ever before and they are constantly seeking new ways of filling it in an interesting and challenging way. Being eager to learn new skills, keen to develop fresh pursuits and willing to discover just how far they can stretch themselves are all vital in their search for new horizons.

The scheme is open to any Jewish boy or girl between 8 and 11 years old - but if you are a Brigade member you can work for one of the awards every week as part of your regular activities from the moment you join.

There are three levels to the Award – Bronze, Silver and Gold, with three sections to complete to gain each Award. There is an additional CHALLENGE Section which only needs to be completed once during a childs participation in the Award.

The three sections are :

  1. HAND-IN-HAND - part of this section must include a Jewish theme and is strongly linked to Citizenship.
  2. IMAGINATION AND CREATION - part of this section must include a Jewish theme.
  3. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

You'll have a large variety of activities from which to choose and although you'll have to be prepared to put in some time and effort we are confident that JLGB can help you achieve things you never thought possible!

Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, for which the JLGB is the ONLY Jewish Operating Authority, is open to young people between the ages of 14 and 25. To achieve the Bronze, Silver or Gold award participants have to complete an activity in each of the four separate sections.
