Come camping and let JLGB introduce you to the great outdoors!

If you've never been camping JLGB can change all that.

Camping has always been one of the centrepieces of the Brigade calendar. Come camping with JLGB and you'll either spend time in a small tent, sleeping on the ground and doing your own cooking or in larger tents with adults cooking for you while you enjoy the activities. Other camps are held in buildings and that could even mean having the luxury of beds!

What can I do at JLGB camp?

Whether it's a small local camp just for your company or a larger national camp for hundreds of members, camp always provides an excellent opportunity for you to learn new skills and activities. Basically it's non-stop fun!

Come camping with JLGB and you will not believe the things you'll find yourself doing - canoeing, sailing, pony trekking, map reading, orienteering, first aid and life saving, to mention just a few.

You will also have the chance to perfect crafts and hobbies that you will have tried at Brigade during the year.

When can I go camping?

We have two large camps that are open to all senior units. Summer Camp lasts for 7-10 days in August and attracts around five hundred Brigade members and Winter Camp lasts for five days in December. There are also Weekend Camps, Junior Camps and Adventure Camps throughout the year.

We do try and keep our costs as low as possible and we want no-one to miss out. But if you are experiencing financial hardships - whether temporary or otherwise - special arrangements are available and your parents should contact the Brigade office in confidence

The JLGB has a reputation for high quality; it is precisely because of this that the JLGB works in partnership with nearly every Jewish school in the Country. Hundreds of children sign up each year through their school to take advantage of the many programmes that the JLGB has to offer.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, for which the JLGB is the ONLY Jewish Operating Authority, is open to young people between the ages of 14 and 25. To achieve the Bronze, Silver or Gold award participants have to complete an activity in each of the four separate sections.
