Did you know that JLGB is the only Jewish organisation that is an Operating Authority for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme?

This means that JLGB can issue awards to all participants who satisfy the requirements of the scheme whether or not they are members of the Brigade.

Who can take part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme?
The Award Scheme is open to young people between the ages of 14 and 25 who may progress through Bronze and Silver standards and on to the Gold Award.

What will I have to do?
To qualify you will be expected to complete one activity in each of four separate sections. These are: Service, Skills, Expedition and Physical Activity. If you want to try for the Gold Award you will be expected to complete an additional fifth section - the Residential Qualification.

In the Expedition section safety is of paramount importance and no participants are allowed to go unsupervised until their instructors are certain of their competence.

We believe that the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme will give you valuable experience of working in the community and will help broaden your horizons.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, for which the JLGB is the ONLY Jewish Operating Authority, is open to young people between the ages of 14 and 25. To achieve the Bronze, Silver or Gold award participants have to complete an activity in each of the four separate sections.
