OTHER BRIGADE EVENTS

There are many other great events in the JLGB calendar. Aside from our National Summer and Winter Camps, there are Spring Camps and weekend camps for the Sergeants' Mess and The Mix, while many of the units run their own weekend camps.

JLGB sends a contingent to the Annual AJEX Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph each November, where our Massed Bands join the Central Band of the Royal Air Force in leading the parade. Many of our members also attend other smaller remembrance services, providing buglers, bands, guards of honour, standard bearers and stewards - civic duty is an important part of the JLGB ethos, and we are proud to take part in all these services, large or small.

Each year, all London units compete at the London Banner Challenge, while all Provincial units compete at the Provincial Walton Challenge. The top units of each Competition then compete at the National Ancill Challenge. The sections that are included in the Challenge are Drill, Inspection, Physical Activity, Brigade Knowledge, Team Challenge and Quiz.

There are regular competitions for indoor sports, outdoor sports, athletics and swimming, while the JLGB Bands also compete at the Musical Challenge, or the Band Championships.

JLGB Schools, Shuls and Communities

The JLGB has a reputation for high quality; it is precisely because of this that the JLGB works in partnership with nearly every Jewish school in the Country. Hundreds of children sign up each year through their school to take advantage of the many programmes that the JLGB has to offer.

JLGB Reunited: Were you in the JLGB?

Were you in the Jewish Lads' and Girls' Brigade? Are you looking for an old Brigade friend?... or maybe you're just curious about what your old mates are doing now? Well look no further! JLGB Reunited is a simple to use website and designed for this very purpose.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, for which the JLGB is the ONLY Jewish Operating Authority, is open to young people between the ages of 14 and 25. To achieve the Bronze, Silver or Gold award participants have to complete an activity in each of the four separate sections.

Why choose JLGB for your children?

First and Foremost, the JLGB is fun! At its weekly meetings, camps and other events across the Country, your children will be able to experience the hundreds of different activities offered every year. Secondly, JLGB provides a safe environment. All our staff attend rigorous training.
