JLGB JUNIORS CITIZENSHIP AWARD

What is it?

  • The JLGB Junior Citizenship Award is a national volunteering project for 8-11 year olds.
  • The award is running in almost every Jewish Primary School across the UK.
  • The award will give you the opportunity to make a difference in your community.
  • By doing the Award, you will get rewarded for all the good things you do with a special certificate!

What is the JVN?

  • JVN stands for the JEWISH VOLUNTEERING NETWORK
  • We help hundreds of people find volunteering opportunities
  • We work with 120 Jewish organisations.
  • We have over 700 people who have signed up to use the JVN service
  • Doing good things is what Jewish people do and we help people do good things by helping others in need.

How does it all work?

  • The award is split up into 5, 10, 15, 20 hour awards
  • You will have your own individual record sheet
  • Every time you volunteer to help others they will record the time on your individual record sheet
  • Everything takes a certain amount of time e.g. Pen pal project might take you 15 minutes to write a letter and 10 minutes to read one that you receive so you would get 25 minutes for that.
  • Once 200 hours have been completed in total by pupils of the school, the school will receive a framed certificate.
