JLGB SENIORS
CLIMBING THE JLGB LADDER FOR THE OVER 11'S
At JLGB there really is something for everyone. From your earliest days as a Brigade member we'll help you to develop your skills and abilities and to realise your potential as a leader.
At JLGB we recognise the importance of giving young people responsibility and helping them to advance.
You'll join your JLGB senior company as a Cadet but, demonstrate proficiency in activities, good conduct and basic leadership qualities, and we'll award you your first stripe. Congratulations, you're a Lance Corporal.
As a Lance Corporal or Corporal we may put you in charge of a section or a platoon and commitment and skills could earn you further promotion.
As a senior member of the company you could become a Sergeant (three stripes). We will involve you in planning and implementing our programme and helping to train our junior members.
At 17 years, promotion could see you as a Junior Leader and perhaps, after training, as a Brigade Officer or Warrant Officer.
Promotion can also be earned through the Proficiency Badge Scheme. Many subjects in our programme form part of the Brigade's Proficiency Badge Scheme. There are four standards. Blue, White, Red and Gold. Each subject has a syllabus which tells you what is required. To gain a Gold standard you will have to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skill and will also have to instruct younger members at least to the blue standard.
DO YOU THINK YOU'VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES?
If so, then telephone the Brigade Office on 020 8989 8990, or e-mail getinvolved@jlgb.org
